At the ‘e-Navigation Underway International 2017’ conference, the prospects and benefits of the Maritime Cloud were presented by South Korean Partners and EfficienSea2.
BETA release of the Maritime Cloud and BalticWeb
Halfway through the project, EfficienSea2 is now ready to demonstrate its first results. The service and identity registries of the Maritime Cloud are ready to be opened up and will make it possible for service providers from all over the world to develop and enter services in the service registry. We are also about to release the web-based platform, BalticWeb, that makes services easily available to maritime users.
BETA release of The Maritime Cloud
At our mid-term conference Getting Connected to the Future on 8-9 November 2016, we open up both the service and the identity registries of the Maritime Cloud in a beta version. As a service provider or another related company, you can try and experience the novel communication framework, take advantage of the functionalities of the Maritime Cloud, and assess the potential it has for your business.
Two of the key functionalities and features of the Maritime Cloud are identity management and cyber security. When you, as a service provider, register a service in the service registry, you get validated as a trusted identity. At the same time, you will not have to think about creating a log-in system for your users. By linking to the identity registry, information will go untampered to and from the right stakeholders. As an end user, on the other hand, you can use a single log-in to all services and trust the authenticity of the service provider.
The BETA release of BalticWeb
At the conference Getting Connected to the Future, we will also open the web-based navigation platform BalticWeb for BETA-users. BalticWeb is an internet platform where you can, as a navigator, from your laptop or tablet access the newest digital navigation services like weather and navigational warnings as soon as they are made available in the Maritime Cloud. This means that you do not have to wait for the services to get integrated in standard bridge equipment. At the same time it gives service providers the opportunity to reach users instantly.
The releases of the Maritime Cloud and BalticWeb are great milestones in the EfficienSea2 project. Relevant maritime stakeholders like you are invited to give feedback to these and other solutions from the project.
